Truck Day at Red Sox spring training in Fort Myers

FORT MYERS, Fla. -- Thursday Is a big day for spring training in Southwest Florida, as the truck carrying Red Sox gear has arrived a Jet Blue Stadium.

The Red Sox truck left Fenway Park on Monday and arrived in Fort Myers early Thursday.

It’s packed with tons of supplies the team needs during spring training, including 275 cases of baseballs, 60 dozen bats, 20 cases of Dubble Bubble gum, a pallet each of giant seeds and spitz seeds and 50 gallons of laundry detergent.

Pitchers and catchers will hold their first workout on Valentine’s Day, and the rest of the players will start February 19th. 

The first games of spring training are a double header against Northeastern and Boston College on February 22nd.

And in honor of truck day, you can grab tickets for spring trianing games against the Cubs and Yankees when they visit Fort Myers for games against the Sox.

You can get them through the Truck Day Double Play package, which lets you pick some of the most sought-after games of the season.  Tickets are available as cheap as $30 a seat.  You will also get a replica of the team truck when you purchase your tickets.
