LEE COUNTY, Fla. -- A collision between two tractor trailer trucks on Interstate 75 Monday morning injured one person and caused major traffic headaches.
The crash happened at 5:28 a.m. in the northbound lanes of I-75 near mile marker 141, at the beginning of the bridge over the Caloosahatchee River.
According to Florida Highway Patrol, the driver of a truck towing an empty flatbed trailer lost control, causing the truck to slide into a guard rail and begin rotating.
That's when another truck swerved in an attempt to avoid the first truck but still collided with it.
The driver of the first truck sustained minor injuries and was taken to Lee Memorial Hospital.
All northbound lanes of the interstate were closed for a while but have fully reopened since.
The injured driver received a citation for careless driving.
