LEE COUNTY, Fla. -- We have new information on a search and arrest of two men who fled a traffic stop on I-75 Wednesday.
It happened just before 3 p.m. near mile marker 133, around the Daniels Parkway exit.
According to Florida Highway Patrol, they eventually found and arrested Jevon D. Blanks and James Blanks. Both are charged with grand theft auto and other charges.
Troopers say they tried to stop a car because it had heavy smoke coming from the back and was driving well below the posted speed limit. When the car pulled over, FHP says the men ran off into the woods.
After a brief search, they arrested the pair without further incident.
