Two arrested after running from police on I75

FORT MYERS, Fla. -- Two people have been arrested after running from deputies during a traffic stop on I-75. 

The Florida Highway patrol attempted to stop a black Acura sedan on southbound I-75 near mile marker 133 just before 3pm Wednesday. The Acura had heavy smoke emitting from the rear of the car and was traveling around 50 mph. 

The Acura slowed, then was driven into the grass shoulder where Jevon Blanks and James Blanks fled on foot into the woods, causing a search of the area. 

Both Jevon and James were arrested, Jevon faces charges of Grand theft-auto, no driver's licens, possession of ammunition by convicted felon and fleeing/eluding a law enforcement officer. James faces charges of Grand theft-auto and resisting an arrest without violence.
