FORT MYERS, Fla. — Two arrests were made for the robbery of an elderly woman in the parking lot of a department store.
On March 10, in the parking lot of Bealls Department Store on Cleveland Ave., an elderly woman held on as long as she could as she was violently dragged by a man trying to snatch her purse.
investigators say Stefan Dwayne Rease dragged the elderly woman about ten feet across the ground.
Witnesses chased him to the corner of the parking lot before he jumped into a dark red SUV and fled.
Lee County deputies were able to identify and track the vehicle, which was found driving on Michigan Ave., on March 13.
Kelly Marie Berry, 25, of Fort Myers, the driver of te SUV, was arrested and is facing charges of robbery by sudden snatching.
Rease, 24, of Fort Myers, was also arrested and is facing charges of robbery by sudden snatching and battery on a person 65 years of age or older.
