LEE COUNTY, Fla. -- Animal Services responded to Shell Factory in North Fort Myers on Wednesday after an employee found two dogs shut inside a port-a-potty in a parking lot.

According to an Animal Services report, an employee found the two pitbulls around 10:30 a.m., shut inside the structure with a water dish. The employee did not think that anybody had been inside the port-a-potty that morning, so they may have been inside overnight.

Both dogs were reportedly alert and in good health, but did not have microchips.

There are no known cameras in the area that may have shown who left the dogs behind.
