Two teens were robbed at gunpoint in a Cape Coral parking lot Monday night.

Vincent Rivera just got off work and was waiting with his friend in the parking lot for another group of friends to arrive.

A sedan pulled into shopping center on the 2400 block of Del Prado Boulevard North and the night took a turn. Four young males emerged from the car and confronted Rivera and his friend.

"They had weapons," said Rivera, recovering from the beating he took Monday night. "Anything could happen," he added.

The group of young men swarmed them.

"There's one guy trying to go through my car, another guy going through his car," said Rivera. "One guy was on him, and another was on me," he added.

One of the robbers then struck Rivera in the face with the butt of his rifle.

"It was like half my face just went missing," said Rivera. "I felt like my eye was hanging out of my head," he added.

Rivera lost his sight temporarily and blacked out. He regained consciousness soon after and stood up.

"It was time to go on full defense, because I'm not going to get killed," said Rivera.

The four robbers jumped back in their sedan after they took a wallet and phone from Rivera's friend.

Neither victim plans on pressing charges, but Rivera believes justice will find those people eventually.

"I'm a very strong believer in karma," said Rivera. "They are going to get what's coming to them one way or another," he added.

The Cape Coral Police report says the light skinned black males are around 16 to 18 years old.  Three of them had dreadlocks and the other one had short hair. The report goes on to say that one of the males had a heavily tattooed face.
