United Way celebrates National 211 Day

FORT MYERS, Fla. --- United Way celebrates National 2-1-1 Day on Sunday, February 11.

United Way 2-1-1 is a free, 24-hour, non-emergency helpline for referrals to health and social services which provide food, housing, medical. veterans services in Lee, Hendry and Glades Counties. 

"United Way 2-1-1 is a vital service that connects people in our community to the services and assistance they need," said United Way President Cliff Smith. " 

The United Way of Lee, Hendry, Glades and Okeechobee has raised and distributed over $157 million dollars since it was established in 1957.

In addition to raising funds for human service organizations in our community, the United Way promotes partnerships and collaborations among agencies and initiatives, helping them work together focusing on issues and solutions that continue to improve lives.
