COLLIER COUNTY, Fla.-- The Caloosahatchee Forestry Center twitter account is confirming the 'Greenway Fire' is now 100% contained. Forestry crews will continue to monitor the fire for flare ups. The fire was nearly 18,00 acres, before being contained.
Forestry crews also say on Twitter that the 'Flag Pond Fire' is 100% contained.
However, firefighters are still busy containing the 'Spoonbill Fire' is still burning in Collier County. It is nearly 1,800 aces and 30% contained. The fire is located just north of I-75 at mile marker 69, near the Bundschu Grade. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
The weather conditions are not very conducive for fires today, April 9th, 2018. All of Southwest Florida is in yellow, which means we are at a moderate risk. We do want to point out, it's still important to practice fire safety and take precautions.
