LEHIGH ACRES, Fla. — A Varsity Lakes student was arrested today after a teacher reported seeing a written threat on a desk
and chair.
The threat read “school shooting,” "February 13".
A police report revealed a school resource officer questioned the boy who admitted
responsibility for writing the threat and distributing it to his friends via text.
The threat was no longer there by the time the teacher and officer arrived.
The SRO read the boy his Miranda rights for writing the threat.
To date, there have been ten school threats since the beginning of February.
