FORT MYERS, Fla. -- A serious crash along Colonial Boulevard Tuesday morning was causing traffic headaches in Fort Myers.

The crash happened on Colonial Boulevard at DeLeon Street, just west of U.S. 41/Cleveland Avenue and involved a trash truck.

Multiple lanes were closed in both directions after the crash, according to Fort Myers Police, and the westbound lanes were closed all morning until the afternoon, due to the spill of a significant amount of  hydraulic oil and diesel fuel.

FDOT and Lee County DOT responded to the scene to clean up the roadway.
