Warrant of Removal filed for suspect in fatal officer shooting

LEE COUNTY, Fla. -- We're learning the Department of Homeland Security has filed a warrant to take the man accused of shooting Officer Jobbers-Miller out of Lee County.

We previously reported that 29-year-old Wisner Desmaret is a Haitian citizen, and could face deportation.

According to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, they filed a detainer on Desmaret on July 22nd, following his arrest by the Fort Myers Police Department.

Desmaret is accused of shooting Fort Myers Police Officer Adam Jobbers-Miller on July 21st.  Jobbers-Miller died from his injuries one week later.

Desmaret is being held in the Lee County Jail on no bond on charges of 1st Degree Premeditated Murder and Robbery with a Firearm.
