LEE COUNTY, Fla. — Mark Sievers, the man accused of orchestrating the murder for hire plot against his wife doctor Teresa Sievers is set to stand trial next month.
This week Jimmy Rodgers was convicted of second-degree murder for his role in the vicious attack.
Jimmy Rodgers is set to be sentenced on November 18th, and the verdict could have a significant impact on the upcoming Mark Sievers murder trial.
“Let’s say that they come back to Mr. Rodgers and say look we’ll drop that down to 10 years or 15 years or even 20 years if you will testify against mark Sievers,” says Pamella Seay.
Legal Analyst Pamella Seay also says that there have been mentions of an open marriage between the Sievers and that we should expect to hear more about a relationship between Dr. Teresa Sievers and Curtis Wayne Wright.
Prosecutors are working on getting a guilty conviction for Mark Sievers, and there will be details exposing their private lives.
“ A lot more information between Mark Sievers and his wife because what your trying to find is a motive,” says Pamella Seay.
Seay says she anticipates a lot more objections this time around, and the jury is in for an uphill battle because a lot of the evidence will be hearsay.
“It has to a very very strong case for that jury, whoever it may be to find Mr. Sievers guilty,” says Seay.
Curtis Wayne wright will also take the stand in the mark sievers trial. He agreed to a plea deal in exchanged to testify against sievers and Rodgers. He is serving 25 years behind bars.
The Sievers trial is set to start on November 12th. Seay says jury selection is expected to take much longer this time because more people have been exposed to the case. She also expects the defendant may ask for a change of venue to ensure a fair trial.
