Will Thanksgiving break help or hurt prosecutors in Mark Sievers murder trial?

FORT MYERS, Fla. -- Court will not be in session for the Mark Sievers trial on Thanksgiving Day or on Friday, meaning jurors will have a four day break.

Attorney Mike Chionopoulous says that long weekend, in his opinion, is beneficial to the state because it gives jurors extra time to think about the state's evidence and put the pieces together.

But our other legal expert, Pam Seay, thinks this will actually hurt the state's case.

“They’ve been sitting back with their family, their friends. They’ve been entertaining, entertained. By the time they come back on Monday they're going to sit back and say wait a minute, where were we? And because so much of the evidence has been so technical, it’s going to be tough to get the jury back into remember the things that are essential to the case."
