CAPE CORAL, Fla. -- Police arrested a woman in connection to the recent storage unit break-ins in Cape Coral.

Right now, Tara Sexsmith is facing burglary and petit theft charges.

There’s video of police arresting her at Cube Smart Self Storage on Tuesday afternoon.

Police believe she’s involved for the thousands of dollars worth of valuable items stolen from inside two storage units at Cube Smart on Pine Island Road last week.

Both victims said police showed them inside Sexsmith’s unit and found some of their belongings inside.

"She had my husband’s luggage with our tag from our honeymoon on it,” said victim Natalie Padilla.

“But I still have not found anything that was important. My daughter’s photos, the video of her being born,” said victim Faith Flannery.

They each said $10,000 worth of items were stolen from them including priceless items that are irreplaceable.

“My wedding dress, my kids’ belongings are all since missing and it’s extremely upsetting,” said Padilla. “I never thought my neighbor would have stolen from me. You definitely don’t know who’s renting right next to you.”

“I literally have nothing to my name other than my two suitcases. I have insurance but it doesn’t cover nearly anything,” said Flannery.

According to the sheriff’s office, Sexsmith has an arrest record dating back to 2013 in Lee County.

At last check, she’s in the Lee County jail and bond has not been set.

A GoFundMe page has been set up to help victim, Faith Flannery.
