NAPLES, Fla. -- A recently adopted puppy from The Humane Society Naples was selected to participate in Animal Planet's Puppy Bowl.

Mocha, a weimaraner/pit bull mix, was originally rescued from another shelter and was just three months-old at the time of the Puppy Bowl filming in October. She is now six-months-old and has been adopted by a loving family.

“I'm excited that we got the opportunity to highlight one of our pets nationally," said Michael Simonik, executive director of The Humane Society Naples.

This year's Pedigree Starting Lineup boasts 39 puppies from 34 animal shelters across 22 states.

In addition to the game, the puppies will also compete for the individual Bissell MVP.

Puppy Bowl XIII will play all day and night for a total of 10 hours on game day.
