Man accused of shooting at Collier deputies arrested

COLLIER COUNTY, Fla. - A large manhunt for a suspect who is accused of firing shots at deputies Friday night has ended in an arrest.

The Collier County Sheriff's Office announced Wednesday that 19-year-old Jorge Luis Jimenez is now in custody.

Deputies say Jimenez fired three shots at deputies while they were responding to a domestic dispute at his home on Covey Lane in the Quail Roost neighborhood Friday night.

They said Jimenez fired three shots at deputies. The bullets did not strike anyone, and no one was injured.

On Wednesday, deputies confronted Jimenez as he tried to enter his residence on Covey Lane in the Quail Roost community in East Naples around noon. According to CCSO, Jimenez ran from deputies who were patrolling the area. Deputies gave chase and apprehended Jimenez a couple doors down.

Jimenez faces a charge of aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer as well as multiple other related charges.
