Teen hit in NW Cape, police search for driver

Police in Cape Coral are looking for the driver who hit a man early Sunday morning in Northwest Cape Coral, leaving him in critical condition.

New surveillance photos were released Tuesday of the car that it the teen. 

Police say the victim, identified as 18-year-old Michael Park, was found just after midnight lying on the road with severe injuries in the 1700 block of NW 18th Terrace.

The man was trauma alerted to a local hospital where he is currently in critical condition. His name has not been released, pending notification of family members.

Police say video surveillance from a nearby home recorded a light colored Kia Soul driving in the area around the time of the accident.

Police believe the suspect vehicle will have front-end damage near the passenger side.
