LEE COUNTY, Fla. -- Friends have now identified the man who died while paddleboarding Saturday off Fort Myers Beach.

62-year-old Jerry Conti suffered from a heart attack while paddleboarding with his wife when he fell into the water. Authorities found his body later in the water after a 2 hour search.

Jerry was an honorary board member for the Cancer Alliance of Naples. He also helped bring Relay to Life to Southwest Florida.

One of Jerry's sons describes him as a very family oriented father who loved all 3 of his children.  He had a passion for music and had the smile and personality to brighten anyone's day.
