LEE COUNTY, Fla. -- You're not the only one trying to block out the cold this morning. Manatees are gathering in huddles in one Fort Myers park to keep warm in the water.
Manatee Park is located on Palm Beach Boulevard just east of Interstate 75, and sits on the Orange River. But it's the FPL power plant next door that lures the marine mammals in times of cold weather.
Water discharged from the power plant is much warmer than the river's water, and that really draws a crowd during cold snaps.
Fox 4 Rising's Mark Jackman filed the above report from Manatee Park this morning.
