LEE COUNTY, Fla. -- After months of investigation into the murder of Dr. Teresa Sievers last summer, her husband, Mark Sievers, has been arrested in her death.
Dr. Sievers was found dead in her Bonita Springs home in June 2015, murdered with a hammer after returning home alone from a family vacation.
Curtis Wayne Wright, a long-time friend of Mark Sievers, and Jimmy Rodgers both currently sit in the Lee County Jail on second-degree murder charges for her death.
According to the State Attorney's Office, Wright has accepted a plea deal of 25 years in prison in exchange for providing substantial assistance to the State Attorney's Office in the case against Mark Sievers.
Investigation documents have suggested Mark Sievers hired the men to kill Teresa in order to collect insurance money.
