Masked man robs FMB restaurant employee

FORT MYERS BEACH, Fla. -- Authorities say a restaurant employee was beaten and robbed overnight as she counted the night's proceeds.

It happened just after midnight Wednesday night at the Pier Side Grill on Estero Boulevard in Fort Myers Beach.

According to the Lee County Sheriff's Office, the suspect is a white male, average height, last seen wearing a black knit cap or ski mask, green camouflage pants with tan loafer shoes without laces.

The suspect approached the employee from behind and pulled her hair back while demanding all the cash.  The man then hit the employee on the head with an unknown object, causing her to fall to the floor, before fleeing on foot.
