Men accused of Buckingham murder plead not guilty

FORT MYERS, Fla. -- Two Lee County men, accused of carrying out the planned murder of a Buckingham man, have pleaded not guilty to second-degree murder charges.

Investigators say Lavaya May, who's also charged with second-degree murder, allegedly asked Jonathan Ruffini and Hunter Tyson to kill Ted Lee back in June.

Investigators say Ruffini and Tyson beat him to death inside his home before all three stole his car and credit card and dumped his body near a Manatee County church.

They were reportedly headed for Colorado after the crime, but were caught days later in Kansas.
