LEE COUNTY, Fla. -- A motorcyclist is lucky to be alive after a high speed crash Monday night in the San Carlos Park section of Fort Myers.

The accident happened just before 11:30 p.m. on Alico Road at Lee Road.

Fox 4's Breaking News Tracker was first on the scene, where Lee County Sheriff's deputies say a motorcycle driven by 20-year-old Pedro Tucker was driving close to 100 miles per hour on Alico Road.

According to Florida Highway Patrol, Tucker was headed westbound and ran a red light at Lee Road.  That's where he collided with a car coming out of the gas station. Tucker was throw from the motorcycle and slid 354 feet along the roadway.

He was taken to Lee Memorial Hospital in serious condition.  Tucker was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

All lanes in that area have since reopened.
