NORTH PORT, Fla. -- A series of crashes Wednesday morning are causing major traffic issues in North Port.
According to North Port Police, crews are working five separate accidents on I-75. One crash involved a tanker truck and required extrication on a patient.
All northbound traffic was being diverted off Interstate 75 at Exit 182 onto Sumter Boulevard, but one northbound lane is reportedly open now.
Diverted drivers wishing to resume driving on I-75 should take Sumter Boulevard south to Tamiami Trail, then head west to River Road and north back to the interstate.
