NAPLES, Fla. -- Police have arrested the caregiver of a disabled woman after he says he left the woman in a car for two hours while shopping inside Coastland Center Mall.

According to Naples Police, 19-year-old Marcus Wise has been charged with Neglect of a Disabled Adult without Great Bodily Harm.

Police were called to the mall's parking lot at 3:30pm Thursday to find a 23-year-old woman inside a vehicle that was left running.  The woman, who is described as "extremely" disabled, requiring care similar to an infant, was sweating profusely and had wet hair.

Officers opened the unlocked doors to find hot air blowing out the vehicle's vents, even though the dial was set for Air Conditioning.

EMS transported the woman to Naples Community Hospital, where she was treated and released.

Wise arrived at the vehicle a half hour later and identified himself as the woman's caretaker.  He told police that he was inside the mall for two hours while returning items and eating in the food court.

He was arrested and booked into the Collier County Jail.
