LEE COUNTY, Fla.-- The Lee County Election Office is gearing up for the November election. The elections center tested their machines that will be used for early voting and election day. The testing is required by the state.
Supervisor of Elections, Tommy Doyle, says employees test every piece of equipment weeks beforehand. He says it's important to make sure all the machines are working properly before you cast your ballot.
"So we know when that piece of equipment leaves here is working properly", says Doyle. "Now something may go wrong in the meantime, but we are ready and have the plans to fix that, but when that equipment leaves here we know every single one was tested."
Employees also tested the high speed machines used to cast mailed-in ballots.
