The deadliest shooting in United States history has been recorded by people with mobile phone cameras and media who attended the country music festival where it happened.
Videos and photos were shared on social media as events unfolded on the night of Oct. 1, 2017. Media followed up by covering the scene as victims were fleeing or being treated. It was gruesome, hectic — and unbelievable.
Five-hundred fifteen people were injured, and 58 killed at the country musical festival near Mandalay Bay Hotel, where the shooter had been staying on the 32nd floor. He shot the victims from windows in his room.
