CAPE CORAL, Fla. - Residents on SE 22nd Place in Cape Coral tell Four In Your Corner that the condition of one of the properties on the street is an eyesore and making it harder to sell their homes.

"You wouldn't expect that in Cape Coral's finest location for real estate on the Caloosahatche River on the Golden Coast," said Hans Bogensberger, a neighbor.

"People come and see it. They say no, no, no. Would you buy this house with this neighborhood?"  The overgrown grass and poorly kept swimming pool have been an issue for Bogensberger and other neighbors in the community for the past four years.

Members of the Cornwallis Homeowners Association say they've reached out to the City of Cape Coral for help in cleaning up the property but have gotten nowhere.

The  homeowner of the overgrown property tells Fox4 that he plans to clean it all up in the next 10 days and that the home is in foreclosure.

The City Code Enforcement tells Fox4 that they are pursuing four active cases with the property that could lead to fines.
