CAPE CORAL, Fla. -- A Cape Coral Police officer has been suspended and ordered to enter training after he was caught on camera shoving a woman outside Dixie Roadhouse last month.
The incident was recorded on a smartphone, and the video that was posted online went viral.
An internal investigating found Captain Michael Torregrossa violated department policy and used excessive force on March 13th when he threw a woman to the ground while she was arguing with her boyfriend.
Captain Torregrossa is now serving an 80-hour suspension effective Monday.
The State Attorney's review determined that there was no criminal conduct on the part of the subject officer.
