Cape Coral, Fla - Lee County Sheriff's Office dive team members are on the scene in Cape Coral searching the waters not far from where the remains of James Marshall were found just a few weeks ago.

The fact that deputies are searching in close proximity to where Marshall was found has prompted residents of the community to speculate that they may be assisting Cape Coral Police in their investigation.

"I was sitting on my lanai, and two police boats when down the canal," said Tracy Ivan who lives nearby.

"When they were going down the canal, I heard one boat tell the other divers, we're waiting for to pick up the body part down there."

Many questions are still left unanswered regarding Marshall's death including the cause of death, and who is to blame.

Cape Coral Police Department has told us they have received calls from residents complaining of buzzards and a foul odor near the area where police were seen Tuesday and Wednesday.

Sergeant Dana Coston told Fox 4 Wednesday "police are searching the area again for evidence" in Marshall's murder.

So far, law enforcement has not released many details surrounding Marshall's death.  They do confirm that Marshall's death is considered a homicide, it is an active investigation and they do have a person of interest.

Count on Fox 4 for the latest details in this case as they unfold.
