Shooting near Fort Myers car dealership

FORT MYERS, Fla. -- Police are investigating a shooting that happened at the corner of Palm Beach Boulevard and DeSoto Street.

Several police cars were on the scene, Saturday night, near the Budget Motors used car dealership, where a silver sedan could be seen with a bullet hole through the back windshield. Investigators were inspecting the car thoroughly before packing up.

The scene cleared around 11 p.m. Neighbors in the area told Fox 4 that they heard at least 5 shots before police quickly arrived. According to them, the owner of the car dealership said a person was shot in the cheek and in the knee. They saw someone get taken away in an ambulance.

According to neighbors, police were searching the area for the person responsible. Police have not confirmed how many people were involved or how many victims were injured.
