FORT MYERS, Fla. - Saturday morning at approximately 7:30 a.m., the Fort Myers Police Department responded to 4320 Woodside Avenue to assist EMS.

Upon arrival officers located the body of a male inside the Billy Creek Preserve and Filter Marsh.

Due to the nature of the call and the scene that was discovered; detectives, crime scene and the medical examiner responded to the location to investigate.

The deceased has been identified as 18-year-old Jimmie Lee Davis of Fort Myers.

His family says he left the house Friday night with a friend and didn't come back. And with the recent violence involving teens throughout Fort Myers, his family is wondering when it will end.

"I don't understand about the violence. The violence needs to stop. Not only do we suffer as a family, but the other family suffers too because they committed a crime," said the victim's aunt, Tracey Williams.

The investigation is ongoing.

If you have any information, you're urged to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-780-TIPS.
