NAPLES, Fla. -- A situation in the Lake Park neighborhood that brought out the Naples SWAT team has ended with an apparent suicide.
Naples Police Chief Tom Weschler said officers were called to the scene of 12th Avenue North, between 12th Street and 13th Street North, for an altercation between a man and a woman in the street.
When officers arrived, they found a man and a woman in a struggle. Officers got the woman separated from the man, who ran inside a house on 12th Avenue North.
Officers then heard a gunshot from inside the house. A SWAT team arrived and secured the scene, then fired gas rounds inside the home before entering.
"They found him inside with a self inflicted...seems to be a suicide," Weschler said.
Weschler said the woman had superficial wounds from the altercation.
