FORT MYERS, Fla. -- Police are tracking an armed man in North Fort Myers
Police are on the ground and using a helicopter, trying to find a man they consider armed and dangerous. The perimeter where deputies are searching are Diplomat Parkway to U.S. 41 to the 7-11 gas station at Littleton Road and U.S. 41.
According to the Lee County Sheriff's Office, a deputy interrupted a robbery at the 7-11 on N. Cleveland Avenue and Littleton Road in North Fort Myers. When the Deputy arrived, the suspect was fleeing the store. On his way out of the store the suspect pointed his firearm at the Deputy and the Deputy fired shots.
It is uncertain if the suspect was hit.
The suspect is described as a black male, 5'7 with a heavy build.
A code red has been put out in the area.
