Two victims hospitalized in Fort Myers shooting

FORT MYERS, Fla. -- Police are searching for a man who shot and injured two people on the front porch of a Fort Myers home Wednesday night.

The shooting happened around 9:45 PM in the 1300 block of Brookhill Drive near Veronica Shoemaker Boulevard. Two people were sent to the hospital with  serious gun shot wounds.

The victims have been identified as 27-year-old Bruce Wade and 26-year-old Clara Smith.  They were both taken to Lee Memorial for treatment.

Fox 4 crews counted close to a dozen markers for gun shells on the ground in front of the house. The house appeared to be sprayed with bullets.

Police are looking for a possible suspect described as a black male, approximately 5’7”, wearing a white t-shirt, and black pants.  The suspect was observed fleeing on foot, northbound from the residence.

At this time there is no motive for the shooting, and investigators are following up on leads in this case.
