Downed power lines ignited a fire in Lehigh Acres.

People living along Buckingham Road and Ada Avenue saw the fire from across the street.

"Everything caught on fire it was insane for about an hour," said Sean Fields who was home with his wife and dogs.

The Fields called 911 and watched firefighters from their front lawn.                                                                           They watched nervously as crews fought the fire and the downed power lines.

"Those live power lines were just shooting flames and catching on fire, it was crazy," said Lisa Fields.

A few high school students who tried to film a project for class got caught in the middle of it all.

"The power line actually fell on top of the car after they got out of it. I told them they need to go play the lottery because there's no reason for them to be alive right now," said Sean.

FPL and the fire department were able to get the situation under control.

The Fields are just thankful it wasn't worse.

"Glad they got out here and everyone did a great job and no one got hurt," said Lisa.
