The newly minted principal of a yet to be built school is ready to hit the ground running.
"I think I need to find a better adjective than exciting, but I have been saying exciting over and over again for a week now," said Jeff Estes.
Estes will be the principal of Bonita Springs High School when it opens for the 2018-2019 school year.
For now, he's asking students like Jordan White to be among the nearly 300 students enrolled when the doors open.
"I'm most excited about going to a new school, and being one of the first ones to graduate."
Jordan's dad is excited about the career readiness programs the school is offering, along with partnership with FGCU that allows students to earn their associates degree while still in high school.
"I'm excited for the AP classes, honor classes, and of course ROTC."
Estes says Bonita High will have programs not normally seen in high school.
"We're going to have a seed to table program, we're going to grow our own crops, we're going to have solar panels a garden."
The Lee County School District will open up voting online for the school's colors and mascots.
