LEE COUNTY, Fla. -- This week, the Blue Green Algae Task Force will meet again, this time at the University of Florida.

On Friday morning, the task force is scheduled to talk about the health impacts of toxic algae and give updates from the Department of Health and the Department of Environmental Protection.

They will also discuss storm water management and regulations.

The task force was formed earlier this year by Gov. Ron DeSantis and is represented in Southwest Florida by Dr. Michael Parsons, a professor of marine science at Florida Gulf Coast University and director of the Coastal Watershed Institute and Vester Field Station.
