BONITA SPRINGS, Fla. — The Bonita Springs Historical Society continues its popular history walks with a tour on Feb. 13, featuring the community’s downtown historic district.

The third walk of the season, "Places of Wonderment," starts Saturday, at 10 am at Liles Hotel History Center in Riverside Park, 27300 Old 41 Road. The cost per person is $30 in advance, $40 the day of.

This outdoor guided walk starting at the Liles Hotel History Center will highlight stories of Bonita Springs's origins. Walk through the historic plaza in Riverside Park and hear about the water towers, artist cabins, Imperial River, and local businesses of old downtown. Learn about lost historic attractions of wonderment, like the Shell Factory, the Seminole Indian Village, the Dome, and the Mystery House.

Next, walkers will visit the Everglades Wonder Gardens for a VIP tour through the verdant grounds. Experience the history, beauty and wonder of this tropical oasis in the middle of Bonita Springs. After the tour, participants are encouraged to enjoy a picnic lunch at the park or Gardens, or dine at one of the local restaurants.

Total walking distance is about 1 mile and tour duration is 2 hours. Face masks are required.
