NAPLES, Fla. — Florida Fish and Wildlife Law Enforcement responded to a report of Gopher Tortoises and a small American Alligator at a Naples residence.
Upon arrival, FWC made contact with Christopher Ethier, who had an active warrant.
The Officer explained he received a tip that Ethier was keeping 3 Gopher Tortoise and an American Alligator as pets.
Ethier gave consent to the Officer to search the house.
Inside the Officer located 3 Gopher Tortoise hatchlings and an American Alligator inside the individual’s bedroom.

Either was charged with 3 counts of Possessing State-Designated Threatened Species and 1 count of Unlawful Sale, Possession or Transporting of Alligators or Alligator Skins.
He was served his warrant, arrested and was taken to the Collier County Jail.
