COLLIER COUNTY, Fla. — There were reports of small amounts of dead fish from Barefoot Beach to the Naples Pier.

Sporadic dead fish have also been reported in the backwater of Clam Bay, and Moorings Bay and respiratory irritation were reported over the weekend from Vanderbilt Beach.

Florida Fish and Wildlife and the Department of Environmental Protection noted patch of red tide off Captiva Island and a larger, better-defined spot off Collier County.

The patch has a low concentration of red tide but has been stable for approximately one week.

To be cautious, the City will be displaying the Red Tide caution signs.

Results from samples should be back Wednesday. Offshore winds are predicted this week, which will reduce the potential for respiratory irritation.
