COLLIER COUNTY, Fla. -- Florida Fish and Wildlife's red tide test result now indicate a high concentration of red tide on one beach in Collier County.
According to FWC, Naples Beach has the highest concentration of red tide in Florida, as of Friday's latest results.
Over the past week, K. brevis was observed at background concentrations in Sarasota County, background to medium concentrations in Lee County, and background to high concentrations in and/or offshore of Collier County.
Red tide was not observed in any samples from Northwest Florida or the Florida East Coast.
Several reports of fish kills were received for Lee and Collier counties.
Respiratory irritation was reported over the past week in Southwest Florida, offshore of Charlotte County and in Lee and Collier counties.
