FORT MYERS, Fla. -- We have an update on the former toxic sludge site in the Dunbar community.
The City of Fort Myers finished its cleanup of the lime residual at the South Street property. The lake banks were also repaired.
The city plans to fill the empty patches with greenery by the end of this month.
The CDC collected ground water samples to be submitted by the middle of this month.
New plans for the site include a storm water management area, a park, and housing.
