People in Southwest Florida had a chance to learn more about a huge water storage project.
The C-43 reservoir is just west of Lake Okeechobee near LaBelle.
It's a part of the South Florida Water Management District's comprehensive Everglades Restoration plan or "CERP."
It will be able to store $55 billion gallons of stormwater runoff.
During this meeting they discussed the "C-43 water quality feasibility study" that will happen next year.
The goal is to find a way to clean excess nitrogen from the water.
The total cost of the reservoir is a billion dollars.
It is expected to be complete by 2023.
