SANIBEL, Fla. — The Sanibel-Captiva Conservation Foundation says Tropical Storm Sally's impacted more than 50 sea turtle nests on Sanibel and about 25 on Captiva that were still incubating as of Saturday.

SCCF believes about ten nests may have washed away on Sanibel.

They have not been able to assess Captiva fully yet due to high water.
Some nests were visibly washed out.

In other cases, the stakes were completely washed away, but the eggs may still be incubating under the sand.

SCCF says they are working to confirm which nests have been fully lost.
