CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. -- Local organizations are teaming up to clean up the Peace River this weekend.
Several local organizations are asking the community to join them at Downtown Bait and Tackle Shop (120 Laishley Court) on Saturday, September 21st in Punta Gorda near the U.S. 41 bridge.
Help by boat, kayak, or on foot is requested.
Organizers will be giving prizes for most unusual find, most trash collected, and at 2:00pm and there will be a raffle.
Organizations and businesses, including Keep Charlotte Beautiful, Bobbie Leahey with Keller Williams Realty, and Sea Tow Charlotte Harbor will be in attendance.
Check-in will be at 9 a.m. next to the boat ramp.
