LEE COUNTY, Fla. -- Anyone planning to harvest blue crabs recreationally next year can begin the registration process on January 1st.
Those 16 years of age or older will need to register with Florida Fish and Wildlife before placing traps into the water.
The registration is free. Once complete, you will be given five unique trap registration numbers, which need to be on your traps, along with your full name and address.
To register, head to https://www.gooutdoorsflorida.com/.
A similar requirement has been in effect for recreational stone crab traps since October 15.
