MELBOURNE, FL. — A rescued young green sea turtle is being treated at Brevard Zoo. Researchers found the turtle caught up in a fishing net south of Sebastian Inlet in the Indian River Lagoon. The turtle named Finn was taken to the zoo's Sea Turtle Healing Center.

Zoo officials say the netting was around all four of Finn's flippers, and one cut was infected. A veterinarian at the zoo was able to remove the fishing net and clean the wound to stop the infection. Finn also has small tumors in both of his eyes. If untreated, it can affect his eyesight and ability to swim and eat. Zoo officials plan to remove the tumors and have Finn back in the ocean soon.
