The Florida Department of Health removed an advisory about high bacteria levels at Tarpon Bay Beach in Sanibel on Friday.

The advisory had been issued on Thursday.

The presence of Entercococus bacteria can increase the risk of illnesses associated with swimming. The bacteria can come from storm water runoff, pets, wildlife, or sewage.

The Department of Environmental Protection says Lighthouse beach and Bowman's beach are also safe for swimming.
